Columbus, IN – On Friday, June 1st, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, the Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress in Bartholomew County (ASAP-BC) will be hosting an optional Project Prevent Technical Assistance Training at the Heritage Fund, located at 538 Franklin Street, in Columbus, Indiana. Any Bartholomew County not-for-profit organization is encouraged to learn more about the opportunities provided by the Project Prevent grants that are now available.
The purpose of Project Prevent is to quickly engage the Bartholomew County community in understanding and sharing the facts about opioids; the consequences of inappropriate uses via impactful asset building and prevention-focused initiatives especially focused on youth (pre K – 25 years of age). Initiatives can be aimed at the entire family (including non-traditional forms of family).
Project Prevent is supported through the Mark and Wendy Elwood Substance Abuse Prevention Fund. Grants are available to Bartholomew County youth-serving organizations, faith-based groups, clubs, teams or other groups operating as or under the financial supervision of a 501c3 tax exempt organization. The grant application is available at www.heritagefundbc.org.
