Heritage Fund and ASAP announce
Project Prevent
supported by the Mark and Wendy Elwood Substance Abuse Prevention Fund
“We Know. We Can.”

Purpose: To quickly engage the Bartholomew County community in understanding and sharing the facts about opioids; the consequences of inappropriate uses via impactful asset building and prevention-focused initiatives especially focused on youth (pre K – 25 years of age). Initiatives can be aimed at the entire family (including non-traditional forms of family). Proposed activities should reinforce key ASAP messages including:

Eligibility: Bartholomew County youth-serving organizations, faith-based groups, clubs, teams or other groups operating as or under the financial supervision of a 501c3 tax exempt organization.

Examples of Eligible Expenses: Educational materials, venue rental, modest food expenses will be considered and where possible supportive of healthy choices, speakers, transportation for low income participants, modest incentives.

Timing: Grant applications are due by the first working day of each month through April 2019.

Suggested Amount: Most grant awards will be in the range of $500-$5,000. However, innovative proposals that can demonstrate greater impact may be considered.

Technical Assistance: Technical Assistance workshops will be available to those seeking additional information about Project Prevent. Details will be available on the Heritage Fund website. Also available on the site will be a packet of background information that may be helpful to applicants.
