Columbus, IN – The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress today announced that they have hired a leader for the ASAP Hub, a recovery support center where individuals and families can begin and/or receive ongoing support for their successful recovery journey.
Nathan Walsh has accepted the position of ASAP Hub Manager, and will be joining the ASAP Team at the end of February. Nathan has more than 10 years of combined experience in the addictions field and substance abuse counseling, having received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University -Columbus Campus.
“The Hub will be the place where men, women and families can get the information and support they need to start and maintain their recovery journey,” said Jeff Jones, ASAP Executive Director. “I am confident that Nathan’s knowledge, experience, and commitment to helping people improve their lives will make the Hub an extremely valuable resource in our community. We’re excited to have him on board the ASAP team.”
The ASAP Hub Manager is responsible for the start-up and ongoing operation of the ASAP Hub. In addition to the operation of the ASAP Hub, the Hub Manager will also be a visible and vocal advocate for substance use disorder recovery in the community and participate as a key member of the ASAP Leadership Team.
“Helping individuals and families navigate through the complexity of addiction and treatment is a necessity this community has overwhelmingly adopted,” said Nathan Walsh. “At the Hub, we will help bridge gaps in treatment, assist with social services and have a central location for anyone seeking sobriety or information about addiction. This is going to be an amazing resource for this community.”
The ASAP Hub, to be located in the United Way Center building, will be opening later this year.
