Columbus, IN – The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress (ASAP) is pleased to announce the hiring of Doug Leonard, a former local and state healthcare leader, as the new Executive Director of ASAP.
Doug Leonard served as the President and CEO of Columbus Regional Health from 1997 – 2007, and President of the Indiana Hospital Association from 2007 – 2017.
“Doug brings vast experience in the healthcare field, as well as exceptional leadership capabilities, and will be a great asset for many years to come,” said Mark Stewart, President of the ASAP Board of Directors, and President of the United Way of Bartholomew County.
Doug will assume the role of Executive Director on July 8th, with Interim Executive Director Jeff Jones remaining on in an advisory capacity during the transition.
“With ASAP, Inc. now established as an ongoing not-for-profit organization, Doug’s leadership experience and commitment to our community makes him a perfect match for this role. I know that ASAP will be in great hands under Doug,” said Jeff Jones, ASAP Interim Executive Director.
The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress (ASAP) leads the effort to identify and establish system-wide solutions to substance misuse and substance use disorders. It is a partner in advocacy, education and support for the health of our community and every person in it. ASAP will be opening the ASAP Hub, Bartholomew County’s Recovery Resource Center, in August of 2019.
